Girls Weekend in Asheville

Girls Weekend in Asheville

We love MG Roadhouse!

The Beaufort House has hosted many women’s groups over the years, from sisters to old high school friends.  We have serve French toast to book clubs and poured coffee for artists that found each other through social media.  We’ve laughed with mothers and their daughters and sipped wine with long lost college roommates.  The Beaufort House is the perfect place to take a break from the real world and reconnect with the people you love.

Let us pamper you during your getaway.  Take a bath in one of our big jacuzzi tubs or pick out a rocking chair on our front porch and wile away an hour chatting with friends.  Once you are properly relaxed, head into town to explore everything Asheville has to offer.  Here are a just few suggestions for your stay:

To Do:

Wake Foot Sanctuary:

Looking for a little relaxation that won’t break the bank? At Wake Foot Sanctuary you can spend an hour soaking your tired feet in a peaceful spa environment for just $25. The staff will settle you into a comfy chair and fill a big golden bowl to the brim with warm water and your aromatherapy of choice.Try the tea tree mint soak for an invigorating experience or the calming lavender chamomile.  Once your toes are warm and toasty they will leave you alone, only to interrupt your nap to reheat your flower petal infused water.  Bring a book or a friend.  Order a pot of tea.  Listen to the calming sound of monks chanting.  If you really want to bring it up a notch, add a 20 minute leg/foot massage ($30).

LaZoom Comedy Tour

TripAdvisor recently listed LaZoom Comedy Tour as one of the top ten attractions in the United States, and we couldn’t agree more.  Since its inception, the funny purple tour bus has become a beloved fixture in downtown Asheville, and no girl’s weekend list would be complete without it. Here’s the scoop: First, chose from either the city tour during the day or the haunted tour at night ($26/$23). You really can’t go wrong here—they are both hilarious, but do book ahead of time as tickets sell out during the busy season.  Second, pick up a six pack of your favorite local beer from the nearest brewery.  Wine and beer is permitted on board and the bus makes a pit stop at the Lusty Monk mid-tour if you need a top off. Third, get comfortable on the bus with your friends and be prepared to laugh until your sides ache—don’t forget to keep an eye out for the nun riding a motorized armchair!

To Eat:

 Little Bee Thai

The number one question visitors to Asheville ask is: where should I eat?  All locals know that this is impossible to answer. There are simply too many restaurants to choose from. The real question should be: which spots in town are the locals talking about this month?  Because the truth is, the Asheville food scene is a moving target, changing so quickly that the current buzz keeps even long term residents on their toes.  Little Bee Thai is one of these moving targets.  A food truck turned brick-and-mortar restaurant just last spring, this tiny Thai spot near downtown is on everyone’s tongue.  It is a fun inexpensive choice for bringing a small group of friends. The seasonal menu is written on a small chalkboard next to the register, with just a dozen fresh items to choose from.  Get in line with all the locals, choose from the warm comforting massaman curry or pad thai and indulge in a delicious thai ice tea sweetened with rich condensed milk

 To Drink:

 MG Road Bar and Lounge

Asheville is a beer city with a dizzying array of breweries, but sometimes you just want a nice cocktail instead.  We’ve got that too.  MG Road Bar and Lounge is the perfect spot to spend a few hours laughing with friends and enjoying some retro cocktails. This funky bar is modeled after the famous Indian restaurants in New York City’s East Village, with bright sparkly lights dangling from every inch of the ceiling—think Stranger Things on steroids.  Try the Cherry Bomb or stick to the $7 menu which features a Strawberry Gimlet and Pineapple Margarita—a steal in today’s artisan cocktail boom! The bar turns into a disco party on Saturdays from 10pm-2pm so remind your friends to bring their dance shoes.

Keep in mind, these are just a few suggestion. Part of Asheville’s appeal is the dazzling variety of activities it has to offer.  Want to go antiquing or visit an art gallery? Looking for a fancy dinner out or to watch the sunset over the mountains with a glass of wine in your hand?  Interested in a  hike to a waterfall or a hot air balloon ride?  Asheville has it all.  Whatever your girl’s weekend needs are, the Beaufort House Inn would be happy to assist you with making your plans. Just ask!
