Design
This is a shot-maker’s course, emphasizing accuracy over power in its 6,720 yard, par 70 layout. From beneath the crest of Sunset Mountain, the players' enjoy spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The course is immaculately maintained and is considered one of the finest conditioned courses in North Carolina.
History and Restoration
The golf course first opened for play in 1899 and was redesigned in 1924 by the great Donald Ross. In 2001, the resort undertook a $2.5 million program to restore the course to the past glory and spirit of its original Donald Ross design.
