  • Biltmore Estate Festival of Flowers: Every weekend of Festival of Flowers features activities in Biltmore Estates 75-acre gardens designed to appeal to gardeners.
  • Downtown After Five: Every 3rd Friday of the month.  Live music, beer, soft drinks, and food on the downtown square. 
  • French Broad River Festival: Benefit for American Whitewater and Big Brothers/Big Sister of WNC.  Music, vendors, mountain biking, and river raft races.
  • Unto These Hills:  Nightly except Sundays.  Cherokee, NC.  Outdoor drama depicting the tragic and triumphant story of the Cherokee Indians from 1540 to 1883.
  • Shindig on the Green:  Bluegrass musicians and dancers assemble to entertain in downtown Asheville, Saturday evenings in July and August at 7:00 p.m.
  • Grandfather Mountain Highland Games:  A celebration of Scottish dance, music, and athletics, Linville, NC.
  • The Brevard Music Festival:  A seven-week summer music series featuring over eighty concerts presented by young musicians, esteemed faculty, and renowned guest artists.
  • Folkmoot USA:  An international folk music and dance festival in Waynesville (a 35-minute drive west of Asheville).  July
  • Annual Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands:  Asheville Civic Center.  Exhibits and demonstrations of basket weaving, wood working, pottery and more. Events include live regional music.
  • Bele Chere:  An annual 3-day Asheville music festival featuring live music, delicious food, and local artisan wares. 
  • 80th Annual Mountain Dance & Folk Festival:  Diana Wortham Theatre, Downtown Asheville.  The oldest continuing celebration of traditional music and dance in the nation featuring traditional Southern Appalachian performers. 
  • Village Art & Craft Fair:  Held on the grounds of the Cathedral of all Souls in Biltmore Village, the fair features 125 artists' wares including jewelry, ceramic, wood, fiber, metals, two-dimensional art, and more.
  • N.C. Mountain State Fair:  WNC Agricultural center, Fletcher.  687-1414
  • Asheville Film Festival:  Showcasing the works of independent filmmakers from across the nation.  See local newspaper publications for featured shows, times, and locations.
  • Biltmore Estate Candlelight Christmas:  Biltmore Estate, Asheville, NC.
